Dark red and black fruits, like many other 2014s, this wine shows more finesse than usual. There is great class and compacted substance. All coiled up right now, but should unfold nicely.
Already showing a multidimensional personality. Powerful, yet restrained. Silky. Long Long finish. I left Ausone with a smile on my face. The best of the 'Classe A' group, and probably the best of St. Emilion of the vintage.

  • 2014 Château Cheval Blanc

A beautiful wine, very floral with great purity. Red fruits and rose petals, delicate, This will be quite pleasurable to drink, showing great elegance. It did feel a little thin, and lacking complexity at this stage. I assume this should gain weight in the bottle, but left me a tad underwhelmed. Has the substance and every right to improve once bottled. 94+

  • 2014 Vieux Château Certan

Very fragrant, great purity and alluring cashmere like texture. I found the Right Bank to bed bait of a mixed bad for 2014. The best have great balance, but show substantial finesse and elegance. Should be interesting to revisit once bottled. VCC for 2014 is very harmonious, and classy. Long, long finish. Not a blockbuster, but regal and stunning. This may very well be the top wine for the Right Bank, and one of better clarets for the entire region of Bordeaux. This is First Growth quality. 96+
