  • 2019 Château La Mission Haut-Brion La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion

Very floral and alluring on the nice. The pallet is elegant and highly pleasurable already. Great balance with cool blue and red fruits, subtle and delicate minerals and spices. Very polished. With aeration the wines gains more complexity and body. I really like this wine young for its fruit. Tasty. Very well made and highly pleasurable. Noble Bordeaux characteristics are apparent. Theire is substance for this wine to develop. I suspect short to mid term drinking will be fun all the way. Drink or hold.

  • 2016 Château Marsau

I should not have done it. I said to myself, leave my last bottle alone! Well, the wine is in a transformational stage. The fruit has developed to deep dark with plenty of secondary flavors. The extraction/oak/tannins are poking a bit much right now and the wine simply needs to age to see what becomes of it next. I suspect it's only going to get better. I would hold another 3-5 years at least. Ambitious wine that has a track record for aging despite its modest appellation and price point. Hold.

  • 2021 Ridge Geyserville

A classic Geyserville right from the start and a step above the 2020. The wine has dazzling red fruits and berries. The hallmark indigenous yeast that is often apparent in thier wines. The tannins and oak structure counter nicely with the spicy fruit. After about an hour they start to merge and provide much delpth and a great finish. While one can get away drinking this with decant. I would hold for 3-5 years and I bet at 5-7 this will wine should be singing. It's already a beauty, but let it soften a bit with a few years in the cellar 93-95.
