[cask collection travellers exclusive, solera blend of Aged Bourbon + European Oak + Red Wine casks, 40%] Soft red apples, sweet wood, caramel and butterscotch on nose. Yet more creamy butterscotch, caramel apple, sweet fruit, with cedar and pine chips on the palate. Finishes somewhat abruptly, exposing some copper and grass. Watering reveals light white florals, but the oilyness collapses somewhat. Easy and enjoyable drop - just don't think too hard about this one.
(Distillery visit w Bo and Chirong) Typical sour rye nose, cinnamon and nutmeg spices, gentle smoke, with some anise. Clean, sweet, complex. Christmas ham. Opens with watering, showing mint. Not quite my style, but already quite open [ended] and young. I wonder if barreling will give it much more character?
(Distillery visit w Bo and Chirong) Salty nose, lifted citrus, soft and rounded. Pleasant white pepper, hint exotic spice, late summer florals, lime sherbert, soft lemon, and some kaffir lime on the finish. Beautifully soft and lingering; unusual!
