Rating is for start of the evening-this dropped off with time, but my it was good to start! Ruby with some bricking, effulgent nose with heady tobacco (misjudged it for a graves wine initially) and fruit/floral aspects, filled the mouth with a luscious medium weight. Turned more tannic and lost fruit with extended air, so don't wait too long. Delicious!

Ruby with dusky edging, moderate nose. Drunk at a tasting event with '89 Chave, '98 Grange and '01 La Mouline, hence not to it's advantage! Dark fruits and spice in measure, but a bit short and tight on the finish. Didn't really budge with air, so no hurry but I don't see improvement in the future. Good but not outstanding.

Argh! Drunk too young. Tasted in a small private event with '98 Trotanoy, '97 Hillside Select and 2000 Quilceda Creek, the La Mission simply kept improving, with the last sip the best. Sigh. Ruby with a nose of tobacco, gunflint and red fruits, closed to start but nevertheless tasty. As the evening wore on it began to open up, but still infanticide. I can see 98 points or better with more time.
