7/10/2023 4:06:00 PM - On glass shape, a friend of mine with a much better palate than me has the Riedel Red Burg shape as his go to for many wines other than Pinot Noir based ones, including Grenache based, cooler climate Shiraz/Syrah and Barolo. I find the shape really messes with me, other than for Pinot, for which I think it excellent. I prefer the Bordeaux shape for Barolo and the Syrah shape for all Shiraz/Syrah and also for Grenache based. I wonder if shape of nose, face impact this, or perhaps his olfactory senses are more developed than mine? By the way, that 2019 Vigna del Sorbo continues to grow in memory. I am very glad I went and bought half a dozen - a big spend for me. I think it will want at least 10 years before it starts to show its best, but I think its best will be magnificent. I had a look at your TN's - I love the 3 Leoville estates. I haven't tried much of the 2000 vintage, though. You write a good note, so you should be writing a few more!
