Lovely broad and complex nose. Shows ripe strawberries, herbal tea, an earthy rusticity and flowers. The wine has good structure - both regarding acidity and tannins. The tannins has a hint of green, which is the main reason it does not get 1 point or 2 more. The fruit is fresh, and everything screams youth. This wine is a very good Mercurey, and a very good Burgundy. It still needs a couple of years to reach maturity, but it drinks well now, but it is not the most obvious choice. Therefore it is all the more interesting. Domaine Louis Max is all organic, unlike their Negos wines.

It is a lovely nose, with lots of fresh fruit - raspberry, rose petals and a hint of anise. In the mouth the wine is still quite lean. The acidity is medium and just enough to balance the fresh if not overtly intense fruit. It is a really well made wine, and the style is refreshing. No cooked elements - just freshness. It is slightly peppery, but the red fruit is still predominant. There is a good length if not very complex. Still a lovely little priorat.

Wonderfully elegant nose. Fresh bramble, Black pepper, ink, tyme and West seems to be Graves-like minerality. In the mouth it has refreshing acidity, and amble tannins and a bitter bite. The green pepper note is obvious, but really refreshing. It has lovely grip, and the finish is longer than it is complet, but High level.

7/11/2013 7:44:00 AM - Hello Vintjener,
I just got a bottle of 2007 La Romanee and have a plan to drink with 2003 Romanee-Conti next week.
Hope it gonna be a very good day.
Cheers...
6/27/2013 6:03:00 AM - Thank you very much for your reply.
I went to Domaine Liger-Belair 3 times and never have a chance to talk with Louis-Michel. I will go again in October this year.
I used to be a big fan of La Tache and now I really love the style of Louis-Michel. I believe that La Romanee must be the best wine in Burgundy, even better than Romanee-Conti.
I will try 2007 next month.
Cheers,
Noppakit
