This is a nice, simple Carmenere, not outstanding. The "barnyard" character that I associate with Carmeneres is more muted in this one than is usual. This is not necessarily a bad thing--most Carmeneres, I'd be hesitant to bring to a party--not everyone likes the must and earth in their wines--this one is more of an "every man's" Carmenere. There is a bit of alcohol heat on the nose, but not so much on the palate, thankfully. And the extremely ripe fruit profile of this wine contributes to a near off-dry, rather than a bone dry, palate impression. If you abhor any perceived sweetness in your wines, this is not the wine for you. I'd definitely buy more at this price, if available, for everyday drinking purposes. Decent/good wine.

This was good, but not great. As one poster points out, the body was not particularly full. And, for another, I like for my Zins to have more of a peppery bite, and this one is almost too smooth to be a good representative of the style.

Absolutely delicious--I only wish that I had bought more. I had it at a bar, and the owner and all of my friends concurred. I especially liked the complex flavors, full body, and nice, zingy, long, finish.
