Aromatic sweet red fruit, jammy nose, with hints of cedar and leather. Soft on the palate, but perfectly balanced . Medium body, yet delicious fruit still. From magnum, stored in temp controlled cellar since acquisition. At peak now, drink it up soon.
Classic nose of smoke and saddle leather. Complex on the palette. A rich and dense wine, with good fruit and balance. Sadly, it seemed to have a slight sourness to the taste - "nail polish (acetone)" as one other reviwer noted was very much in evidence both on the nose and in the taste . May not have been the best bottle, though have had since original futures delivery.
Terrific, classic Pauillac. Nose of cedar and graphite mixed with exotic spices. Still very firm tannins, but beginning to be approachable, much like a young California Cab, just a 23 year-old youngster. Sophisticated complexity on the palate. While the tannis are big, the wine is not monolithic, it offers a sublime subtlety and long finish with overtones of red fruit and cassis to blend with the leathery lead pencil. Softer than the 86s and simply a great wine, maybe as some have suggested, best ever for Lynch.
