  • 2006 Tokaj Nobilis Hárslevelű Barakonyi

Hárslevelű is a white grape variety it is very common in Hungary especially in Tokaj. This grape is perfect for Tokaji Aszú but there are a lot of very nice dry wines which are based partly or fully on this grape. The Hárslevelű has nice round acidity and rich flavour profile with flowers and honey. This wine is from one of the best winery in Tokaj.

It has a medium gold color. The nose is medium intensity with aromas of honey, minerals and white flowers. It has 1,9 g/l sugar but I felt it completely dry. The acidity and the alcohol are between medium and high.
My conclusion it is a good quality wine with very serious structure but I would prefer with more fruit flavour characteristics. It goes well with pork food. This wine is ready to drink, but will not improve.

  • 2010 Domaine Huet Vouvray Sec Le Haut-Lieu

The color is exceptionally clear, bright pale gold.
Not very intense but very elegant citrus and flower nose.
The palte is clean, very fresh-feeling. The mid-palate is dominated by citrus.
Great stucture and concentration but the acid a little too loud.
The finish is long and full of minerality.

  • 2008 Main Divide Pinot Noir

Very typical and nice nose with cherry, sour cherry juice, mushrooms and forrest litter.
The palate is not as intensive as the nose.
The finish is dominated by a bitter taste like a dark chocolate.
Nice wine but a slightly artificial feel to me.
