Quite surprising, despite its age, the primary fruit is still present with red fruits on the nose, very supple and soft on the palate, well balanced with elegance. Medium finish, silky texture. Very palatable. At its peak now and not sure will it benefit from further aging.

One of the best non vitis vinifera, non labrusca out there...probably vitis Amurensis or Vitis Coignetiae.... very little information is available for this mystical variety Nose of soy sauce, dark fruits, not tannic on the palate but has a very lively acidic backbone, totally unlike any vinifera grape. Super interesting stuff.

It’s an amber wine that has great freshness, not too tannic and with good acidity. Went really well with my German broiled meatballs (königsberg we klopse) dinner.

9/8/2015 12:33:00 PM - Sorry for late reply. Unfortunnately I didn't have time to visit the winery, but the owner's friend was so kind that he delivered the wines to me. I purchased 2 reds and 1 white. So bad that I cannot take more in my luggage! I will share the wines with my wine buddies later. Thanks again.
8/24/2015 11:24:00 AM - Hi, I am going to travel to taiwan very soon and I would like to purchase some taiwanese wines. I just saw your tasting notes for 2014 Benson Winery Babuza series. May I know where can I buy the wines? Thanks.
