Had to try this to get a sense of whether the Tremblay hoopla is justified. Immediate stemmy lift and floral perfume that is piercingly red-fruited. With air the nose gains complexity and seems Dujac-like in a lighter register. On the palate there is a lovely density of deep sappy fruit and considerable length. Concentrated but elegant, this has the vintage transparency allied to superb wine making. Special.

Slight sulphur which dissipates. Elegant fruit and citrus on the nose and that distinctive resin and mint combination that seems present in many Ramonet wines. Concentrated fruit on the palate but it is held in check. There is excellent length and Grand Cru restraint.

This is like inhaling a slightly sulphur-tinged sherbet of lemon and chalk. A rigid mineral spine tightly wound with fruit. And after what seems an age, the tongue inexplicably receives a fresh squeeze of lemon by way of adieu. Day 2: no change. Bloody marvellous!
