This is really good, don't write it off as a flabby 2011. Yes it's big on entry and has a weighty mid-palate but it's backed up by great acid on the finish. Really appealing citrus profile, limeade, and a bright acid driven finish makes it feel fresh. Maybe as it warms up it could feel a bit fat but if consumed cold (fridge temp) its great. Just getting started too, lots of life left. More acid than many of the 2007's I've tasted of late.

2009 base. Great wine, it surpasses my expectations every time. Very pale yellow color. The nose is a little limited and maybe shows a little marzipan but is fresh and bright. This wine is all about it's nervy tension of lemon, mineral and acidity. Sharp and refreshing, strong mineral mid palate, long lemony mineral finish. Some may find it too severe or austere but thats what I like about it, its unapologetic expression of minerality, no tricks or polish to cover it up. Maybe not as complex as some would like but it's such a pure expression of Mesnil sur Oger Chardonnay that it makes up for it. I don't think this wine goes through malolactic fermentation which adds to its character. In a great place now but there's now rush, seems as fresh as the first bottles I opened 4-5 years ago, no signs of oxidization. This could go another 10 years, we'll see - impressive for a NV wine from a small grower producer.

Rich stone fruit nose; apricots, maybe some white peach too. Very Pinot Noir nose, dense and full. The palate is different, its very austere and mineral. Not much fruit at all in mid palate, it just goes straight to mineral, very soil driven with grapefruit citrus fruit. Not the most complex wine but very grower in that it's a transparent expression of Verzenay Pinot Noir from 2008 which makes it interesting. No signs of age, no oxidation, so is holding up well in cellar.
