Plenty of life in this "youngster". Based on notes here I did not decant but opened 1 hour before drinking. it was the 1st bottle of the night before 2 CA cab sav giants from 2007 and 2010. it was right there with them on satisfaction level. It had a serious dirt/musty nose upon opening but faded to a desirable aroma quickly. Still has notes of tobacco and chocolate and had an absolutely silky-smooth mouth feel and continued to develop over the 1 hour of drinking as the finish got longer with each sip. Going to give it 2 hours on the next one. It should get to 2040 easy.

decanted for 1 hour and consumed over an additional 1.5 hours. With this level of Syrah I always get a smokey taste upfront. Some call it charcoal or tobacco then it mellows out over the course of drinking. I got a hint of what i could only call menthol but in a pleasant way maybe the spiciness others have mentioned. I got the dark red fruits flavor that lasted and lingered on the palette but very smooth luscious mouth feel. 14.9% Alcohol but not overpowering . AT 11 yrs old it still has plenty of life and should continue to evolve but in a good drinking spot now.

Drank over 1 1/2 hours after 2 hr decant. It continued to open up and become an incredibly smooth mouth feel. I get the black raspberry and white pepper taste and to me a hint of licorice in the back that dissipates as you drink it. This has plenty life left in it and should easily age 5-7 more years. I will try again late 2022.
