  • 2013 Laurent Tribut Chablis

    My first acquaintance with the wines from Laurent Tribut. 2013 was a difficult year in chablis and I've skipped the most from this vintage but found these bottles at a reduced price, and could not resist buying them. The nose is a bit old school-chablis, slightly reductive with seashells, seabed, clay and honey. On the palate there's something seem to be missing, there are fruit (yellow apples and honey) and acidity but they don't integrate with each other and the finish is a bit tart. The nose is better than the taste but in overall an rather good chablis, not what I expected though. I would like to try a different vintage of this wine.

    A very good bdx-blend from SA. Perfect phase right now but will last for a few years more. Great nose Plums, tobaco, leadpencil, iron, liqorice, red berries and a slight of smoke. Great palate with good acidity, chewy tannins and a long dry aftertaste. This is definitely up there with the very best from SA. Wines like Paul Sauer, De Toren, Rust En Vrede etc etc.

    Easy going wine that goes well with your pasta or pizza. Mediumbodied, good acidity, dry and sandy tannins. Drink now -2017.
