St Estephe is THE prospecting ground in 2003. Deep black purple colour with no lightening at the edge this Cos Labory is set to provide many years of lovely viscous, black fruit rich drinking pleasure. This is a beautiful example of a great Bordeaux at , in Bordeaux terms, a reasonable price. Unlike the Meney there is no greeness on the finish. Drinking very well right now but absolutely no hurry.

What a lovely wine. Reminds me of that buttery edge that good Californian chardonnay has. Not to everyone's taste but for me mm mmmh! Have a bottle of the Ramonet Ruchottes from the same vintage allegedly much superior to the Boudriotte. Next Christmas will be unbelievable considering today's experience. Interestingly opened a bottle of Michel Niellon Chassagne Chenevottes 2007 after this Ramonet and it just didn't touch it for quality NB = The cork was measurably shorter than the Ramonet which shows the belief Ramonet has in their cuvees.

Green. I could make some positive comments about this wine but, at least for me, everything fades under an overbearing greeness on both nose and palate. Conclusion - avoid 2004s even Grand CRU's.
