I cannot comment on the price of this however was very pleased to have this opened and thrust into my face (with no expectations whatsoever)at a NY's eve dinner with some friends. This wine was pretty beguiling, although fuller flavoured, had some secondary characteristics underlining the deep strawberry flavours; typical Californian pinot traits in my opinion. This is still full of flavour, lacked the depth of classic Burgundies but was very enjoyable. Ps the drinking window says to 2014. Ignore this, there's a good few years left, I'm sure.
The purest expression of CNP in a bottle I have found. Very young but drinkable now from this big year. Hugely enjoyable. Balance of fruit and acidity is good, surprisingly little tannin.
This lesser known winemaker is a hidden gem amongst myriad of established, well known producers and the all too numerous ordinary winemakers in the appellation. If you can get your hands on this, or the prestige cuvée called Lacoste you won't be disappointed. Can drink now or keep another two years until this one really starts to hit its straps.
Still got it. Opened at a friends in France. Sweet taste, tannin resolved completely. Still good length on the finish. This was perfect with barbecued lamb chops and some sausage. Just about the best time to see this off. Very happy indeed with this, a real treat.
