Really good cheap everyday wine. A little hot and heavy but otherwise juicy cabernet fruit and a long mouthcoating finish. As with any cheap wine, it has its faults, but for the price, easily overlooked. This is roughly the same type of wine as AV, but slightly better. Serve cool. 85-86
garnet, no bricking. slight brett out of the gate but subdued enough to lend characater to what is a remarkable wine. very ripe fruit, cassis liquour, leather, tar and a touch of earthiness (probably the slight brett) very long finish, ending just slightly oxidized which tells me this wine is in a slow decline. I'd score this somewhere between 92-94. That said, I think this wine was probably drinking better about 5 years ago.
This appears to be made in the new international style. Not a lot of complexity but good nonetheless. High toned, tangy citrus and not much else. I'll give it a couple pluses for being even tempered and not confrontational. For such a hot day, this was definitely a good choice though. 85-87
