  • 2009 Marsden Estate Syrah

    * Clear, medium, ruby with fast legs in appearance
    * Clean, medium+ intensity with developing nose blackberry, black cherry, leather, peppery spice, vanilla
    * Dry, medium+ acidity, smooth medium tannins, medium+ alcohol, medium+ body with flavors of blackberry, black cherry
    * Good. Can drink now, but have a few more years of development.

Notes: Drank with lamb chops over couscous. Bottle had a bit of tartrate crystals on the cork. Decanted via an aerator and drank immediately after. Nose a bit closed at the beginning, but opened up as dinner went on. Very easy drinking with fruit-forward flavors and smooth tannin and oak. Very straight forward fruity syrah.
