But we haven't gone for a visit yet (I've never been; she joined when she visited about 10 yrs ago) -- you have a couple favorites from that region?

I must say I was a bit resistant but have made a point to be more open minded with them in the past few years. I must admit you are right and have come to really enjoy many of them--especially the ones from Walla Walla as you specifically suggested. This nice discovery is leading us to plan a trip to Washington (and probably Oregon) in 2024. Sorry it took me so long to find out but I wanted to let you know you were right! Eric

  3/21/2014 10:24:00 AM - Hi ewsds! Saw you'd fanned me so checked to see that we have a lot of wines in common, including not-so-common stuff like the 07 Moncayo Veratons. We probably have the only bottles in WA state. Also saw that you wrote a recent note on the Maison Bleue Boushey that mirrors mine pretty much to a 't'. Sounds like our palates are calibrated. Anyway, thanks for the vote of confidence; I look forward to reading more of your notes.

  2/3/2014 11:52:00 AM - Thanks much Sheldog, and go Seahawks! I think you'll enjoy giving WA wines a try. In the current Wine Spectator, they said that the average price ofr a 90+ point wine from WA was $43, vs. nearly double that from CA or France. Enjoy!

Like me, you take a practical view of a wines profile and don't try to incorporate the more intricate nuances. You will also give me some exposure to Washington wines which for the most part I have avoied due to lack of knowledge and experience with this region of the country. Congrats on a Seahawks victory. At my SB party I was the ONLY person who picked them to win. Made some nice $ for it too!
