For the drinking window we are clearly opening this bottle a little late in the game, but that said... A little alcohol in the nose along with the some red fruit notes including raspberry. First impression is heat. A little something on the initial attack, but the mid-palate is ZERO and the finish is ZERO. Would have liked to try this 5 years ago. But today, just not an altogether enjoyable experience. This wine is DONE.
Probably waited far too long to drink this...Still pleasant but didn't yield the typical SQN experience. While the SQN essence still shown through a bit, I'm guessing we caught this bottle much too late in its lifecycle. Had it with home-grilled hamburgers and the food most certainly enhanced it. One bottle left - won't keep if cellared for very much longer that's for sure.
Nose hinted of strawberry. This Syrah Rose is definitely not what we'd consider to be a summer wine at this point...
We agree pretty strongly with DCWINO. Totally out of balance. Needs to be decanted probably 6-8 hours or more. Certainly did not help the food. For a wine this pedigree, very disappointed and was hardly worth drinking. Perhaps we had a bad bottle and will try it again in the future hoping for a more enjoyable experience.
