This blend (80% Aglianico, 20% Piedirosso) is deep dark red in colour. In the nose a complex bouquet with concentrated aromas of plum, liquorice, plum, black cherry and precious wood. On the palate it displays great complexity and concentration with relatively precise flavours of caramel, black cherry and smoke, intermixed with plum, milk chocolate and mint, sustained by silky tannins. It offers a soft warm mouthfeel. Full bodied, well-balanced and a long finish. Good buy! Drink: 2014-2030. Rating: 93 points.
