Really dissapointed with this wine. A typical "Rt 29" wine. Heavily oaked with a strong american component, highly exttracted with dense blackberry fruit but little complexity and finesse. Aging well hoever and those who like alot of fruit and oak, and dont ask for much more, will perhaps enjoy this wine.
Showed its class as soon as it was opened but evolved over the next hour in carafe. Deep purple color with very little sign of aging. This wine is still a baby. Dense but elegant cassis fruit with a judicious caress of oak. Aromas of cigar box, sweet spice, tar, and coffee. A long, lusious finish with firm but ripe integrated tannins. Pretty close to perfect.
