  • 1973 Sterling Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

    This beauty has been developing in my cousin's cellar for 35 years; probably purchased during a summer trip to the Canadian Rockies.
    An obvious choice for filet mignon on a Weber. Opened with a very promising bouquet, and quickly showed its strength and beauty after decanting.
    Black cherries and prunes with a deep, dark, tawny red colour. Silky smooth in the mouth, and like velvet going down. Definately at its peak, drink
    now if you're lucky enough a bottle.

  • 1979 Château Cantemerle

    Drank with an excellent filet of beef and fried parisien potatoes. Opened the bottle 30 minutes before serving, and was delighted to see a beautiful ruby red color. Decanted at once, and consumed the bottle over a 90 minute period. Each refill was more outstanding than the previous, until the last drops were gone. So it oxidized quickly, but attained full fruit and flavor after 60 minutes or so. Way beyond expectations, and if you have one, drink it NOW.
