Opened 2 hours before dinner, left in the cellar. Decanted at the restaurant. Dark garnet, dark fruits with a pronouned oak overlay. Very " hot " on the nose, serioulsy detracting from the experience I expected. Not helped by the warm ambient temp in the restaurant

tasted both from a 750 and a magnum. Both displayed excellent balance, but the mid-palate is disappearing. Nice mineral notes, and certainly interesting to be able to taste at this age. No significant difference between the 750 and the magnum. The 2004 Belle Cote was considerably more vibrant, from a 750. Will taste the magnum fairly soon.

Although not quite what I expected fom a Marcassin, in a way a pleasant surprise. Very mineral driven, with good acidity, and not the usual almost explosive caramel/toasty notes I expected. Certainly a wine a Burgundy lover would like quite a bit
