Wow - the last tasting note was 10 years ago! And wow, what a great wine. Sooo classic Cali cab. Received as a gift and stored (mostly) properly. I was concerned with the soft cork, but delicious - fresh as a daisy! Some bricking, but not subdued. Probably a bit more oak than fruit, with unobtrusive tannins. Long finish. More breathing would have helped the evolution, but it was too good to wait longer. Reminds me a bit of Parallel....

Quick decant before family dinner. A lot of vanilla on the nose (harbinger of things to come), and maybe a bit hot. Great color and depth. The winemaking was very consistent for B Cellars - more fruit than vegetal - new world, but not obnoxious - good depth of flavor and finish. But, I wanted more for a To Kalon of this age. Yes, it’s still young, but I got a sense of process over terrior. Well made with a pleasing style, balancing new and old world. Just nothing fantastic that screams First Growth.

Pop-n-pour. I was anticipating a much more aged wine, especially with a rather dried cork and questionable provenance (bought at auction). What a youthful surprise with beautiful fruits - just as fresh as a daisy! Good cab flavor with smooth tannins, integrated oak, and long finish.
