Opened to some earth, funk, and mild fruit.. opened up over an hour glass decant. Funk blew off, and more fruit black cherry presented itself. My first premier cru burgundy, this was more about the experience. This has an interesting mid-palate with a very asian, hoisin sauce, and meaty taste to it. Definitely has a strong acidity level, and low tannins. Coating the palate. Was very food friendly, but once this opened up, I enjoyed drinking on it's own.
Bought off a close out.. Wonder if this has sat too long. The fruit was there, but sort of dull. Lots of leather, tobacco, and some secondary cocoa components. I was hoping for more rich blackberry per the earlier notes. I got more of the dried plum. Definitely a decliner... so drink with haste.
