On opening, lovely structure, velvety texture on the mouth, the fruit is contending well with the oak. A thrilling and balanced wine - only the slight baked character on the nose stops this from being a magnificent wine. With time, air, and medium cooked Marriott burger the nose starts to pull itself together, some red fruits, a hint of blueberry. Weirdly as the nose cleans up, the palate becomes more as you’d expect - American oak caramel coming back to the fore. Still a pup but this will be magnificent in time.
Tight, tight, tight as a tiger. Some lovely floral notes, violet perhaps. A lot of concentration here - some marzipan, cherry stone, and a lot of fruit. I suspect that this would open up with a few hours in the glass. Not terribly complex but some good fruit there and I think a more than decent example of its kind.

Popped and poured at Wood Tavern. Clean as a whistle. Real depth to it. A certain savoury element. Up there with the best of these.
