Promising floral aroma, but undrinkable acidity. Not classic VA flaw, but close, and definitely not the profile of this wine when I picked it up three years ago. Disappointing. D.

Dark purple; aromas of leather and blueberry; some tart fruit up front and around the edges, with dark berries, tar, and smoked bacon in the middle, and a long peppery tannin finish. Plenty going on here for the money. A-.

2 hours into the second night (overnight in the fridge), this bounced back from an interesting but disjointed disappointment into a rich balanced wine. Orange blossom and hot cherry aromas with some wood and licorice; bright acid structure up front with red vine and dark mocha flavors; and a long citrus finish. A-.
