Aged right now, and very enjoyable. 2 bottles lately that compare much more favorably to the same wine 2 years ago. Very dry and good structure, but not at all wanting for fruit and terroir. Medium bodied. Nice nose with currants and flowers and some pepper on the nose, but not too big. Same flavors on the palate, but then a big blackberry showed up too - and a bit of cheesy funk. Not simple; medium complexity. Very good balance. Medium finish. Very good value, tho patience required. The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like red currant, oak, medium toast, bready and tobacco. It tastes like blackberry, red currant, oak, cherry, black pepper and honey. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

48º. One of the most unique chardonnays I've ever had - sinful richness. It has a brilliant fruit sweetness that's still in perfect balance, dryness, and complexity. The texture throughout is superb, unlike any but just one chardonnay in my experience. Tropical, oh boy yes, but rich, creamy, full, beautifully smooth, complex and focused. A persistent, but subtle theme of chardonnay fruit runs through nose/palate/finish, quietly integrating the layers and deliciousness of this wine. Creamy lemon, pineapple, and lychee on the nose, small bits of oak and tang just to add structure and complexity. Palatte is lychee fruit forward - strong, sweet, perfectly restrained - with apple and pineapple. Creamy, crazy good balance. Great acidity (without tartness). Finish lingered long and closed with a light bitterness, urging, "take another bite" of lobster - dang! - scallops, ono, mahi, monkfish...any medium-bodied fish, begging for toasted macadamias. Dee-licious!!
