Must say I was a little disappointed. Expecting a monster of a wine and ended up in bed with an elegant lady. There seemed to be candied cherries on the nose which after 24 hours turned to coconut oak. There is no doubt it is a good wine, but certainly not worth the $300+ paid for it. Parker should have stuck to his original score at 92-94. James suckling has his hand on it giving it 100 points....shame on you Jimbo....have one more and will try down the track, however it is drinkable now.

I was worried after reading and tasting a lot of random oxidation in 99 white burgs that this bottle may also fall victim....not to be!! A bright golden colour with aromatics of toast and citris. The palate has bracing acidity which should see this wine through for another 15 years. The palate reminded me of good raveneau....slatey, stoney, minerally with a core of lemon/lime that left me wanting more. Keen to try again in 10 years.

This is super vino. The aroma of black currant and mocha jumped out of the glass and was followed by a medium to full bodied furry tannic beauty. It will need 5 good years to settle down and integrate, but the toasty mocha and ink lathered cassis make this one of the best value for money wines in the stable of 05's. Drink it from 2013 and watch it improve with time....giddy up!
