Poured into a decanter then rebottled for dinner at Julia's Bistro. served a little warmer than I like maybe 65-68. I loved this wine oily mouth feel very lush but very clean and pure. this should develop into a great wine but so good now that i have no regrets drinking one now.

We immediately limited yields and opened the vine canopies in our Dr. Crane vineyard to further maturity in this early ripening and rocky site. The acquisition of additional rows this year, allowed us to pick the vineyard in two passes, fermenting them separately and increasing the wines overall complexity. Brilliant dark ruby in the glass with aromas of blackberry compote, dark chocolate, scorched earth and that distinct Dr. Crane minerality. Silky smooth on entry, perfectly ripened fruit dances over the mid palate then frames the above notes with natural acidity and tannins that are firm yet integrated. With a low crop yield, this wine sits right in the sweet spot coupling old world phenolics and new world fruit and power.
Give this wine a few years in the cellar to further integrate and gain some additional texture. Age it 8-12 years to encounter the amazing complexities this wine will develop.

Brilliant violet in the glass, aromas of huckleberry, slate, currants and distinct Rutherford loam notes flow across the palate ending in a rush of smooth and polished tannins. Across the mid palate and into the finish is where this wine gains momentum and precision. Like previous vintages, this version is all about incredible complexity combined with subtle restraint that will leave you wanting more.
Drink this wine in its youth with a short decant or let integrate for 6-8 years and be rewarded with a perfectly aged beauty. One of the most complex and layered versions of Georges III I have ever made.
