Herby, red fruits on the nose. The palate starts with crunchy cherry fruit, there’s a touch of sweetness but a lovely vibrancy to the wine. A little spice towards the back of the palate, silky smooth with good length and clarity. Very good.
Very nice nose with notes of dried meats and cassis. Plummy and filled with blackcurrant, there’s a little grip from the very ripe but spicy tannins. Quite a silky texture and good length on the palate. Improves on day three with a nice dark chocolate character on the finish.
Big youthful oak-led aromas. It’s quite a classic bold oaked chardonnay with powerful butterscotch and toasty oak flavours. It’s big and dense but with just enough acidity to keep it enjoyable. There’s a bit of zingy lemon fruit, but the finish is dominated by the oak characteristics. Needs some time.
