Probably the best of Leoville Barton for current drinking, this is a beautiful mature claret showing cassis, cigar box, leather and cedar notes. Perfectly balanced and elegant with nicely resolved ripe tannins, the wine has a wonderful mouthfeel and a nice lengthy finish. Last bottle :(.
Beautiful classic claret. With a few hours of slow oxygenation, this wine opened up in to a very smooth, pleasant wine still full of life. It displayed cassis, cedar, and a bit of earthiness. The tannins are still present although nicely rounded and starting to fade. This bottle still had plenty of fruit and it finished nicely with some length. Glad I still have a couple more.
