9/12/2019 8:58:00 PM - Fcolonna, I haven’t tried it yet, but I have very much enjoyed previous vintages, and it is a pretty decent price. The other day, I scored some 2016 Beaucastel CDP, which I was pretty happy about. I thought I had missed it because I was away, but it looks like the BCLDB released a second batch. Beaucastel is my favorite CDP.
Sorry for taking so long to respond to you, I need to get my act together.
Take care for now...
7/1/2018 10:35:00 AM - Great to hear from you!
The Beaucastel sounds amazing. I see Everything Wine is offering a pre-order for back vintages of Beaucastel. I have slowed down from purchasing as well. I am finding it hard to keep with the drinking windows. But with that said the EW offer is very tempting.
Sorry to hear of the MS, I have a friend who has suffered from MS for years and he is still going strong.
Good too see you back on CT, and enjoy the summer.
10/19/2016 1:41:00 PM - Thanks for the information, the delivery is on it's way. Next year I will have it shipped to a friends place in Seattle.
Congratulations on the Quilceda Creek. I seem to remember the 2012 Cab Sauv C.V. hit the Wine Spectators Top 100 last year. I think it was rated no. 2! You must share your tasting on that one.
9/26/2016 12:59:00 AM - If you can ship it to a friend over the border and then pick it up, that would be the best option. I don't think they can ship directly to you. If you bring it across yourself, you will need to pay the PST, GST, duties and provincial markup. The good news is that the duties are next to nothing and the provincial markup maxes out at $17 per bottle.
I just picked up bottles of Quilceda Creek and the taxes aren't really that bad ($44 per bottle).
BTW, California Cult Classics is worth exploring.
9/17/2016 4:26:00 PM - Quick question
I ordered some of the Turley's 2014 release direct from the vineyard mailing list. I see that you do the same with the Cult wines. Do we have to pick the delivery up at customs or is it shipped direct to us? Turley's didn't know.
1/7/2016 7:21:00 PM - I got them before the WS announcement. I am a big port fan and didn't get enough of what I wanted when the 2007's hit the shelf, so I jumped at the 2011's when I saw them. I'm not sure if I will live long enough to see them in their prime...
1/7/2016 10:06:00 AM - hi thanks for adding me as a friend - still getting the hang of the social features CT has...
BTW nice collection of 2011 Dow Vintage Port - did you pick them up before or after the WS annual list came out? I could only fine the Warre's (for a reasonable price)
10/30/2015 9:00:00 PM - I'm not drinking anything tonight, but tomorrow is going to be a party. Still haven't decided on what bottles we are going to open. Hope the Italian was good!
10/30/2015 6:06:00 PM - What bottle will you enjoy tonight? I still can't make up my mind. We ordered pizza, so I have narrowed it down to Italian. ;-)

This hasn't changed mush over the past couple of years. It is still a good value for a reasonably good Sauternes.

As with my previous note, I like the restrained fruit. It is a pleasure to drink.
