First bottle from 2 cases I bought chez Avril back in the day when Clos des Papes was a EUR30 wine or so. Much better showing compared to the bottle I drank with Niels and Rasmus in Tain in March. This is a very structured wine, the pretty red fruit is elegant and super pure and focused. Clos des Papes in the floral, lighter style, however with so much material and stuffing that this will be a very long ager. This is young for sure. Great wine.
Saying hello to a good old friend here. Old-school Neuf with plenty of tertiary flavors at play but also plenty of fruit left here. Quite lovely with lamb from Sisteron and ratatouille facon Lillelund in beautiful Provence.
Much, much younger appearance compared to the 2003. This is young. A floral nose with marks of pineapple and liquid soil (schist). Remarkably fresh on the palate, moves along nicely with finesse. The fruit is pure and poised. Wow. Tremendous.
