Cassis and dark fruit on the nose with a little bit of leather. Big, strong tannins and the continuation of dark fruit on the first taste. I taste some vegetal notes in the mid-palate, which I like. The finish is long with a bit of heat from the alcohol. Overall, I liked it but wonder how much better it could have been after a few more years.
Pop & pour. Beautiful color. Lots of blackberry, blackcurrant, and strawberry on the nose. Blackberry and strawberries came through up front on the palate; sour cherries through the mid palate. This was a very fruit-forward Bordeaux with a hint of greenness on the finish. Great body and mouth-feel with well structured tannins. This wine seemed a little young; should show nicely in a few more years.
