Black licorice, raspberry, strawberry, black cherry, in perfect balance with tannins that need years to resolve, and a palate of the same with tragon and basil intermingled......hugely complex and delicious.
Cedar, dried red fruits, touch of blackberry, and good length all contribute to a very smooth and moderately complex red from Wa. that is 8 years old....very surprising performance as I have had 1 that was drying out a bit.....this one from my cold cellar was very good.
Very Wa. Syrah......good mix of dark and red fruit, low acidity, and meaty notes mingling with black and red berry.....this is the beginning of what Wa. Syrah can be, and should be, but a bit more complexity adn depth is needed to be truly outstanding......this vineyard has huge potenital, especially the Joseph Phelps clone Syrah.
