Still a very dark ruby. Dark cherries, soft background spices, and some wood splinters. Not as precise, not as delineated as I imagined from the nose; still a rich wine and a special treat for me who tends to drink his burgundies way too young.

Moving toward a more golden yellow. A complex nose of mature peeled citrus rind, a heavy slate, and hints of sherry. Like rolling marbles in the mouth, dense and even chewy, honey, oily nuts, and warm granny smiths. I see why this is adored but this is not my favorite style.

Pale straw with some golden glints. Fine bubbles. On the nose, bright critus and a light toast. Tart and light fruit, crisp and delightful--citrus, wet stones, and jasmine. A fine specimen now and one that I suspect will improve. But gosh, it's really nice now. Paired very nicely with Scottish salmon crudo and lemon vinaigrette.
