A lightly darker, but not oxidized or oxidative, profile is a giveaway this is not chardonnay. Orchard fruits with a nice spine of acidity. Good wine, but the somewhat short finish is a giveaway for it's village status. Better with food.
Dark, opague color. This wine struck me as much more cabernet sauvignon than cab franc. And strikingly new world in style. A very good wine, and one that would do well at a steakhouse as a old world gateway wine.
Drinking incredibly well immediately upon opening. Dark fruit with intense concentration combined with pure Chambolle elegance. Fills every corner of the mouth, and the finish lingers on and on. Will hold, but absolutely delicious now.
