READY TO DRINK! Anyone that has a bunch of these like I do should start consuming. Delicious and fully open. Cassis and cedar predominate - previously noted tannins have melted away. Best wine I have opened in the past 6 months. Sadly miles above the 89 Latour I uncorked last week...

The best QPR cabernet from California that I've ever had. This was 9.99 - I bought a lone bottle and tossed it aside and forgot about it. Pulled the cork Wednesday and had it with a burger - and damn, this was good drinking! Synthetic black rubber cork. Really dark wine - loaded with cassis, cherry, and raspberry - some burnt oak flavor but not overwhelming. Still tannic but drinking well. Low expectations may have something to do with the enjoymant but I'll bet if this were inserted in a blind tasting of Cali cabs it would do pretty well.
The leftovers (recorked in the original bottle and refrigerated) 2 nights later - consistent notes - essentially had not budged.

Ripe fruit, pepper, garrigue. Quite balanced for a hot year. Comparable to higher priced CdP.
