Paired with a Cassoulet (i.e. loads of duck and pork fat to match the tannins). Still young, but already open. Great syrah nose of dark berries, bacon and pepper, but also a note of fresh red currant. Initial red berry sweetness on the palate followed by a structured midle with pepper and a gamey note. Long finish with almost sparklingly fresh acidity. Still present tannins, but already loveøy with hearthy food. Will only better in the next year (slight caveat due to the low level of sulfur). Consumed from magnum.

This seems to have reached its window. Gorgeous, classic nebbiolo nose, roses licorice and sweet balsamic notes. Lovely sweetness on the palate, with layers upon layers of flavours backed by a solid acid backbone. Ipressively clear fruit. Long and intense, but some dry oak tannins at the end stand in the way of an even higher score. Oak otherwise beautifully integrated at this stage.
