what a treat! this was on the list of an "institution" restaurant, so it had been sitting there for some time and well stored. yes, some of the acidity has faded, but what a cool wine. the nose is amazing so much going on. the now mature wine starts to remind one of Sauternes but without the sticky quality in the mouth. At first I thought it would overwhelm the fish dish we had, but there is enough acidity left. Just really fabulous. The Somm at dinner was all over this one. I kind of found the hidden gem and when I shared with him, he too was smitten.

Oh yes. Comments below indicate that this has richness and sweetness on the mid palate but ends dry, exactly as a good Gewurtz should. So much complexity and balance. Does not have strong acid finish ( it is not a Riesling so that's fine). Just wonderful. Try it with Roast Chicken!

Took this for lunch and did not take notes. White flowers, lychees. Acidity is on the lower end. Ripe fruitiness could make one believe this is a sweet wine.
Lo tome para comer y no apunte notas. Flores blancas, lichi. Acidez muy justa. Fruta madura hace que el vino se pueda confundir con un vino dulce.

This is a quality a traminer! Aromatic nose, rich somewhat sweet palate with herbs, peach and some minerals works great with non-sweet desserts or some cheeses. Drinks very well now.

rich and sappy (and a bit sweet, relative to the fading acidity); floral and tropical and lychee and pineapple; if only this had more acidity!
