Drank a bottle at home for lunch to pair with KFC with my wine mates.
Brick red in colour with a well balanced profile on the palate. On the nose the wines presented well preserved plums and prunes, dried berries, dried fire wood + leaves, and some wild herbs. Very interesting to note that the acidity, body and alcohol kept each other in-check without overpowering or being submissive to each other.
Still drinking nicely after 48 years of age. Well done!

Drank this at Kam Boat over dinner to celebrate the birthday of one of the lads.
Light brick red in colour, almost Pinot Noir like. On the nose, the faint aroma of berries and cherries is unmistakable. Some dried herbs, dried mushrooms and aged firewood on the nose. With the structure slowly fading away with the withdrawal of the alcohol, the acidity stands out, holding the wine together.
Clearly past its prime drinking window, this wine gives a clear glimpse to its winemaking skills and how a well made Bordeaux can age gracefully, withstanding the test of time.

Not gone or vinegar but little left to enjoy. No length. Nice to taste at this age but this is clearly after its due date..

Tight tannins, austere. Aromas are good, but fade quickly.
