hmmm to start: I am not a fan of merlot... but counted on something more round but get something more spicy..... to my grilled tuna staek it happened to be more accurate .... but anyway below expectations. technicals: nose of black currant!!! ??? mouth; pepper plus dried plums - but short. decanted for one hour - tannins at the begining - later faded.

Very dry leather with a hint of currents. Subtle back ground of cedar. I was hoping for a little dark cherry finish. No development or changes from the intial taste but a very lingering, puckering, after taste. This wine needs to be paired with food and I would not serve it on its' own again. If this wine is less than $12, (BC prices), I would buy it to pair with light meat and a sweet sauce. Porks chops with apple sauce, baked chicken with Honey mustard etc.

Not a fruit-forward merlot; has a little "funk" but in a good way; good mouthfeel, alcohol was integrated and was not obvious; nice density. Had this with Stilton cheese, the pairing was tremendous.

A very decent bottle. At this price, I might buy more.

NOSE: oak, smoke and hints of turmeric. TASTE: hard to pinpoint, pleasant nutty start and a black pepper finish.
