  • Red and blue fruits, lots of tertiary flavors -juniper, forest floor, olives, a little raisin. As previously experienced, after 45 minutes - quite thin in the body (it did fill out somewhat several hours later) Stronger and very balanced on the finish. Nice minerality.

  • So this is like a school book example of classic, proper claret. No additions to my last notes, continues to show what old school Bordeaux tastes like on a solid level. 17/20

  • Great bottle. On the nose cedar, spice, dark fruit. I bit of orange on the rim. Lots of barn yard funk.... perhaps bretty in a good way. I have always found a good bit of bottle variation in the earlier Lanessans. On the pallet, black fruit, cassis, red fruits, Tabacco, polished wood. Med plus finish. Still good acid. I think it can still develop. I have four more bottles will hold for two more years and test again. I worry slightly about the bret on this bottle but like I said these tend to have lots of bottle variation. enjoy...classic claret! The cork on this bottle was very dry!

  • At P&P very bright color, with little visual hint of 21 years, very nice dark fruit, floral, cedar nose. Terrific on the palate and it improved over about 90 minutes until it was gone. Glad to have 5 more (1246 views)

  • Beautiful intense Cabernet nose. Sweet and dark cassis fruit. Fresh attack on the medium-bodied palate, quite good concentration on the midpalate. Very fresh and savory again towards the finish; pure Cabernet fruit speaking here. A bit tannic on the finish yet very good, savory, slightly bitter aftertaste. Absolutely classically styled. Drinking just fantastic and has all the capacity to do so 10 more years easily. 17.5/20.
