Another great bottle. Very refreshing. Light on its feet, clear palate, fresh, precise, no fat. Pear, light dough notes. There is a slight suggestion of sweetness, but I believe that is just the freshness and clarity of the palate. With R.
Pale gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. Showing wonderful purity and elegance, almost weightless with pear, pear glace, lemon chiffon, white flowers, subtle yeast. The palate is again very clean and fresh, elegant, light with great focus, pear, lemon, light apple skin, long, fine minerality. Disgorged 07/13.
Not as bright as the bottle I brought to Amali with James and Fernando a week or so prior, this one is much more compact, more inward focused, much drier and more minerally than that first bottle, but still lovely body. Very well received. At the Pierre pre Skurnik pre Phish.

(NV Vilmart & Cie Champagne Grand Cellier Brut) Light yellow color with abundant, steady, tiny bubbles; tart pear, apple nose; tasty, very tart pear, tart apple, mineral palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish (70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir; blend of 2010, 2009 and 2008, with base wine aged 10 months in large oak; disgorged July 2012; more on the austere side than usual for this bottling) 92+ points

(NV Vilmart & Cie "Cuvée Grand Cellier" Brut) ($79.00) 50% ’08, and 25% each ’07-’06. 70%PN/30%CH. Disgorged 4/10. The wine has always been excellent, but it used to be more starched and not entirely knit, and now it’s silkier. This is certainly among the very best of the last fifteen years, with the clinging flower of ’08 and the warm, honeyed ’06 dancing in graceful counterpoint. Mirabelles and apple sauce against lavender and wisteria, a little more springy than usual, with a refined, incense-y finish.
(NV Vilmart & Cie Champagne Grand Cellier Brut) Light yellow color; complex, very floral, mineral and bright lemon nose; creamy tasty, elegant citrus palate with good acidity; medium finish 93+ pts.
