This was the first really 'ready' bottle of this we've had. Very traditional in style (including the fact that it's taken this long for the tannins to lose their huge grip); medium bodied, drinks well now. Great nose.

Upon opening, the nose lept from the glass. The still enough structure , this seemed the best showing for this wine yet. However, each sip became progressively worse, ultimately revealing this bottle to be very lightly corked. The next morning, the initial bouquet was still quite alluring as it went down the sink. This bottle was a disappointment, though a fascinating glimpse into the way a modest TCA infestation plays havoc with our sensory perceptions.

Black fruit and a bit of tobacco; a pleasant drinker. Tannins pretty relaxed. On target for the drinking window up to 2019 shown. Must note that when the wine is still it smells of fruit, but when swirled there's an odd rusty old bucket aroma. No idea what that's about.

Popped and poured. This was fairly ho-hum until about an hour and a quarter after being opened, at which point, it suddenly opened up to be quite a nice, if unexceptional wine. Needs air.
