This wine showed some of its age but was still vibrant. Decanted for 2 hours before serving. Typical Bordeaux tastes and smells of cedar, pencil lead, and black/blue fruit. Very enjoyable and perfectly intact. A little bricking along the edges but otherwise drinking very well.

This is a nice albeit rustic pauillac. Decanted for 2 hours. Consumed with a nice chicken roast. This is more red fruited and old-school than PC from 2003 on. Tertiary notes surround green pepper and classic cabernet sauvignon flavors. Tannins are a little course. I suspect this is at peak, and I doubt this will improve but hold here for several years.

Drinking really well although for this particular bottle it was time to drink! Chalky tannins, black cherries, plums bordering but not quite on stewed. Agree with Mark it took a few hours to come into balance, but when it did it was excellent. Thanks for sharing this one Mark!!

30 minute slow ox then enjoyed over the next 6+ hours til it faded at the last glass.
Medium garnet in the glass, not much bricking yet. Nose of a funky barnyard but it cleared after about 45 minutes or 10 minutes after pouring into our glasses when it displayed forest floor, mushrooms and a sweet balsamic vinegar note. Palate reflects plummy fruit, slightly stewed the first 2 hours but by hour 4 this stewed component disappears. The tannins were a bit out of balance early on but again by 4 hours they smoothed out and came into balance with the rest of the wine, too. Graphite arrived on the nose then, the fruit remains fairly strong and some old leather shows up, too. This played out very well through the night between a 93-94 for me. Very happy with this bottle after picking it up at auction about 18 months ago and not knowing how it was stored all those years before.

Surprisingly good given its age and uncertain provenance. Opens to raspberry notes, which evolve to stewed prunes. Long finish.
