This is a tremendous wine for the price. Santa Rita consistently delivers great wine for the price. This wine has a great balance of fruits, combining a subtle tart berry flavor with a slight bit of muddled berries. In addition, there are hints of vanilla and cedar. It even lingers on the palate a bit.
For the price, it's hard to beat this for a good daily drinker.

Dark garnet color. Tight nose of dark cherries and plums. Lush wild black cherry flavor with agreeable, mid-weight tannins and refreshing acidity. Nice dark chocolate finish. Delicious, uncomplicated, mid-weight red wine that will turn heads when served with grilled burgers. The only reason carménère is not better known and more popular is due to its French eradication during a 19th Century Phylloxera plague. Thank you, Chile, for finding and preserving it. The difference with carménère is that the cherry flavor resembles the more piquant fruit from North America's wild black cherry tree (prunus serotina). Excellent QPR.

Clear blood red. Creamy and vanilla in the bouquet. On the palate oak, clove, evident sweetness and also acidity. An ok wine and clearly Chilean Carmenere. Probably mass produced for a large target audience, but a bit boring.

Good, but not great. Really enjoy the flavor profile of Carmenere with its unique notes of chocolate surrounded by dark red fruit . Nose, front to mid palate of this bottle was tasty, but wished for some acid or spice on the back end. That said, for $12 this is a lot of wine, and certainly beats the pants off bad chianti and many basic Bordeaux blends.
