Oh man, so good. Opened about 3-4 days ago, recorked and kept at cellar temperature, grabbing a glass or so every day. Nose is spicy, with tart red fruit and leather/soil aromas. The palate shows great rusticity, full bodied wine, still fairly tense tannins that are loosening their grip over time, allowing the sour cherry fruit and kirsch flavors to show through. There is anise and underlying garrigue spiciness. The structure of the wine is built for food, with med acidity and nice complexity from the myriad of flavors. Delicious now, but this one will keep going through 2020 or so.
