Light garnet to garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking throughout. Nose of corked grapefruit. Flavors of tart berries. Light to medium acidity, light to medium tannins, light bodied. Short finish. Drink now. Either this wine is off or seriously bad wine. No rating at this time.
My guess was a 2005 Zweigelt or Texas Hills Cabernet Franc.
Tasted at the winery. Smoky, earthy, mushroomy aromas ushering in tart cranberry and cherry fruit in the palate. Finishes with additional earth and spice notes across firm and gritty tannins. Should develop very nicely as fruit mellows and tannins resolve.
